{"id":13271,"date":"2024-09-20T22:45:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T20:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vedruna.org\/celebrate-the-international-day-of-peace-with-joy\/"},"modified":"2024-09-20T22:45:40","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T20:45:40","slug":"celebrate-the-international-day-of-peace-with-joy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vedruna.org\/en\/celebrate-the-international-day-of-peace-with-joy\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate the International Day of Peace with Joy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Twenty-five years ago, the United Nations adopted September 21 as the date for the <strong>International Day of Peace<\/strong>.\nAccording to the United Nations General Assembly in 1998, <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Peace is not only the absence of conflict, but also requires a positive, dynamic and participatory process in which dialogue is promoted and conflicts are resolved in a spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>This definition of peace as something positive coincides with our conception of this value, which is often so difficult to achieve in the world.\nFrom Scripture, we know that &#8220;only in God do we find peace, that Christ is our peace. He is the Lord of peace, not of confusion&#8221; (1 Cor 14:33).\nThis is consistent with one of the fundamental values transmitted to us by St. Joaquina: <strong>joy<\/strong>.    <\/p>\n\n<p>For the Vedruna community, peace is a clear objective that runs through our entire mission throughout the world.\nOur fundamental pillars embody the same values that the UN promulgates with respect to peace:   <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Healing<\/strong>: to respect and defend life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Educate<\/strong>: to encourage non-violence, peaceful conflict resolution, dialogue and cooperation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Liberate<\/strong>: by defending justice, solidarity, tolerance, cultural diversity, thus protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>As the defense of peace is also a joyful celebration, we share a song to inspire the celebration of this day:<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> \n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Paz, paz, paz.
