In preparation for the celebration of the Bicentennial<\/strong> of our Congregation<\/strong>, the city of Suipacha<\/strong> (province of Buenos Aires, Argentina), through its councilors, has publicly expressed its recognition and closeness by declaring this event of Municipal Legislative Interest<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The distinction, granted by the Honorable Deliberating Council<\/strong> in the session before Christmas, on December 22, highlighted the deep historical, educational, pastoral and social footprint that the Vedruna Congregation<\/strong> has left in the life of the town for generations.<\/p>\n\n

Councilman Juli\u00e1n Rosales Delfino<\/strong>, promoter of the project, explained that at the beginning of his term he proposed to “highlight significant events or people of Suipacha”, being the Vedruna Bicentennial<\/strong> the first initiative presented. “From the information available in the Bicentennial web page I was able to elaborate the project from the Fuerza Patria Block<\/strong>. Regardless of the religious, and understanding the diversity of beliefs present in the Council, I focused on the social role that the Congregation <\/strong>has had for decades in our community,” he said. <\/p>\n\n

Since their arrival in Suipacha, the Vedruna Sisters<\/strong> have accompanied the growth of the community through education, human promotion, faith and commitment to the most needy, in faithful harmony with the charism inherited from Saint Joaquina de Vedruna.<\/p>\n\n

As an alumnus of Colegio Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Carmen<\/strong>, Rosales Delfino was able to experience firsthand what it means to be part of the Vedruna Family<\/strong>. “It is not only about the creation and sustaining of the school, but also about active participation in community life, with clear examples such as the Sr. Trinidad Vicandi<\/strong>the promoter of the Home for the Elderly; the Sr. Tere Franco<\/strong>Hospital nurse; and currently the Srs. Liliana Oliva and Mar\u00eda del Carmen Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>deeply committed to the community,” said one of the youngest councilmen in the province of Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n\n

The declaration of Legislative Interest also recognizes the relevance of the Bicentennial<\/strong> as an event not only ecclesial, but also cultural and communitarian, which invites to look at the past with gratitude, the present with commitment and the future with hope. Within this framework, on February 28, Suipacha<\/strong> will host the central continental celebration, welcoming sisters, lay people and communities from different countries of America. <\/p>\n\n

From the Vedruna Congregation<\/strong> we are deeply grateful for this gesture of the municipal authorities and the people of Suipacha, which reaffirms the bonds of fraternity and collaboration built over time. This recognition encourages us to continue walking together, renewing the desire to “embrace the needs of all”, as St. Joaquina did, and to continue to be a presence of “generous love and mission that inspires the mission”. “generous love and inspiring mission” in the midst of the world.<\/em><\/strong> in the midst of the world. <\/p>\n\n

The Bicentennial<\/strong> is thus experienced as a privileged opportunity to strengthen the Vedruna identity, to celebrate the shared life and to renew the evangelizing and educational commitment to the service of society. In this sense, the Municipality of Suipacha and the Organizing Commission of the Bicentennial<\/strong> are already working together so that February 28th will be a true celebration for Suipacha and for the whole Vedruna Family. <\/p>\n\n
