On the weekend of May 30 to June 1, the “Encuentro Jóvenes Vedruna 27” (JV) was held at Colegio Santa Cruz de Brasil. The event was aimed at young people in their second year of High School, under the responsibility of the Pastoral Team of the School, with the collaboration of students of the third year of High School and alumni.
The meeting provided the participants with an experience of self-knowledge, fraternal coexistence and spirituality through dynamics that helped them to recognize their true identity and reflect on the burdens they carry, motivating them to leave them behind.
It was characterized by significant moments of sharing and spiritual experiences. At the end, the young people made the commitment to be Vedruna Youth, committing themselves to the mission of following Jesus, inspired by the example of St. Joaquina de Vedruna, who “did everything for the glory of God and the good of the neighbor”.
The testimonies of a young monitor and a participant say it all:
“For me, being able to serve at JV 27 was very special, because I was able to see lives touched by the charism of St. Joaquina de Vedruna, in the same way that I was also touched when I did the Vedruna Youth gathering.”
Anna Claudia Garcia Dorte, monitor
“This encounter was incredible and wonderful for me. This experience made me reflect a lot about my attitudes and my life. I came out of the encounter totally different. I feel free, relieved and closer to God.”
