The weekend of August 14-16 we participated in an enriching experience of service and community as Vedruna Youth Mission, composed of students from San Felipe from 8th grade to 4th grade.
We went to the Sisters’ house in the town of El Tabo, where we were able to share significant moments of meeting and teamwork.
Among the activities carried out were the cleaning of the beach and the garden of the house, actions that not only contributed to the care of the environment and the surroundings, but also strengthened the spirit of solidarity that characterizes the youth ministry of our school .
In addition to the practical work, we experienced moments of personal and group reflection, which allowed us to deepen our faith, value the meaning of service and plan new initiatives.
The young people discussed and organized proposals for activities to be carried out during this and the next school year, in order to continue cultivating active participation, solidarity and Christian commitment.
We share some testimonials from the participants:
“For me, going to Tabo was a very nice experience that I would like to repeat, because by doing these activities we helped, in a way, people through the environment and we could connect as a group of Vedruna Youth Mission” – Micaela Romero (4th grade “B”).
“My experience in the MJV activity in El Tabo was very pleasant because I felt very comfortable in the place where we stayed, the treatment we were given and the good coexistence we had among us. I really enjoyed the activities on the beach and at the sisters’ house. I thank them for giving us their time and being able to have fun at the beach” – Maximiliano Reyes (4th Grade “B”)
“My experience in El Tabo was fun and wonderful. These days were used to get to know each other as a group. My favorite activity was going to the beach and cleaning the garden.” – Javier Fernández (2nd Medium “A”)
“The meeting was very entertaining and improved our coexistence as a group, in addition to the fact that we learned the importance of helping and collaborating. It allowed us to get to know each other better, share different experiences and realize that together we can achieve great things” – Pablo Gómez (8th grade “B”).
“It was a very nice experience, where I was able to meet many people, participate in various activities and help in the beach cleaning” – Fernanda Salinas (2nd year “B”)
This mission was not only an opportunity for concrete help, but also a space to strengthen ties between courses, share experiences and grow as an educational community around values that inspire and transform.
