Lenten Lenten Walk of Colegio El Carmelo, of Caracas

How important and necessary it is to prepare ourselves during Lent to live Easter!

This is what they do at El Carmelo School in Caracas, where everyone, from the little ones to the teachers, live this time of conversion, awareness and search for reconciliation.

On March 5, Ash Wednesday, our school was united in spirit and faith to celebrate the Lenten Eucharist, a special time of reflection and spiritual renewal. Friar Santos Martinez, reminded us of the essence of Lent as a call to personal transformation, forgiveness and strengthening our connection with God.

During the ceremony, the imposition of ashes was performed and we were invited to begin a path of reflection and change. The school choir, directed by Professor Carlos Vargas, enhanced the atmosphere with the animation of songs, creating a space of reverence and praise that touched the hearts of all those present.

We would like to express our gratitude to the pastoral team for organizing this beautiful celebration, which reminds us of the importance of faith and community in this time of Lent. Let us continue to walk together in this spiritual journey, open to transformation and divine love. May this Lenten season be an “opportunity to be bornagain”, as our Pastoral Motto invites us, and to renew our commitment to the values that unite us.

Renewal and commitment at the Staff Training Meeting

The teaching, administrative and support staff joined in a significant formative meeting, marked by reflection, spirituality and commitment. The day began with the participation of the pastoral team, who, with their songs and prayers, created an atmosphere of serenity and spirituality.

In a symbolic activity, each participant wrote on a piece of paper what he or she wished to change. Afterwards, these writings were burned, representing the rebirth and conversion we seek during Lent.

With the reading of Galatians 6:1-10, we reflected on the importance of sowing in order to reap, bearing our burdens by supporting one another and not resting from doing good. In groups, divided by educational levels and roles, we analyzed our Coexistence and Peace Agreements, to learn about our duties and identify how we can improve our attitudes and behaviors. Remembering that there is always an opportunity to transform ourselves and be better every day.
