The Vedruna Pigcawayan community joined the celebration of the 75th year of the Archdiocese of Cotabato with the theme: “Celebrating Faith, Communion and Mission”.
It is a significant milestone in the life of the Archdiocese of Cotabato as it joyfully celebrates its 75th Anniversary—a Diamond Jubilee of faith, communion, and mission. The Archdiocese has stood as a beacon of hope and a living testament to God’s enduring presence in the lives of the faithful especially of bringing Christ to the people.
Rooted in the rich soil of Mindanao’s cultural and religious diversity, the Church in Cotabato has grown from humble beginnings of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) mission, to a vibrant community, embracing challenges and triumphs with unwavering trust in the Lord. This celebration is not only a remembrance of the past but also a renewal of commitment to the Gospel, a call to strengthen our bonds as one Church, and a mission to continue serving with compassion and courage.
The Archdiocese looks back with gratitude especially to the first missionaries and religious Congregations presence, lives the present with joy to its diverse and rich cultures, and moves forward with hope—empowered by the Holy Spirit to proclaim Christ in every corner of society. As we celebrate 75 years of journeying together, we are reminded that the Church is alive when its people live out their faith in unity and love, ever ready to bring the Good News to all.
The Celebration was graced by so many priests, religious Congregations and lay faithful who come together to thank God for His fidelity to the mission of the Church in the land of Cotabato. Archbishop Angelito Lampon, OMI DD, officiated the Holy Eucharist together with the diocesan and religious priest of the Diocese. During the Mass the logo of the 75th Anniversary of the Archdiocese of Cotabato was unveiled and its meaning was read to us by Rev. Fr. Emerald Paladin, DCC and also the recitation of the 75th Jubilee Prayer. After the Solemn Celebration of the Mass in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, we had a short program and sumptuous lunch at Notre Dame University gym. The history of the archdiocese was being read and shared to us and also recognizing and thanking the former four Bishops of the Archdiocese.
