Bicentennial: a transcendental milestone

The Sisters of the Province of India gathered on a virtual platform last March 26 to share a meaningful time of union, reflecting on the Bicentenary of our Vedruna Family. This occasion invited us to contemplate our 200 years journey as a momentous milestone, both personally and collectively, as a Province and as a Congregation.

Fr. Learoy Rodrigues SJ guided us with an inspiring talk, highlighting three key aspects to help us give meaning to this Bicentennial. He described it as:

  • A time of convergence of a million dreams.
  • A time for active remembrance.
  • A crossroads moment full of grace.

The 45-minute speech, followed by a participatory interactive session, motivated the attendees and served as a vibrant call to travel both backwards and forwards: reflecting on our past while embracing the future. She encouraged us to recognize the importance of the crossroads moment we live in today.

Our Bicentennial motto calls us to a generous love, placing mission at the center of our reflections and decisions. It invites us to cultivate a million dreams that keep us awake and alert, so that we can see all things made new in Christ and be born again.
