A Double Celebration: 200 Years of Vedruna and 50 Years in Gujarat

It was a day of great joy and celebration at Deep Darshan School, Ahwa, as we commemorated two significant occasions—the Feast of Our Blessed Mother of Mount Carmel and the 200th anniversary of the Vedruna Family. These twin celebrations were especially meaningful as they also marked 50 golden years of Vedruna presence in one of the remotest districts of Gujarat.

Over the years, the light of education and dedicated service has transformed the lives of countless tribal children, families and communities. The Bicentenary theme, “Generous Love, a Mission that Inspires,” continues to motivate us to move forward with renewed commitment, illuminating the minds and enriching the lives of the children and families entrusted to our ministry.

We were privileged to have the presence of the President of the Dangs District, along with other distinguished guests, Fathers, Sisters and parents. In his address, the Chief Guest expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the commendable service of the Vedruna Sisters. He highlighted how our dedicated ministry has contributed to transforming lives, empowering communities and enabling many young people to pursue their dreams.

The celebration was further enlivened by a vibrant and colourful cultural programme. The variety of performances, presented with enthusiasm by the students, created an atmosphere of joy, unity and togetherness, strengthening the beautiful spirit of the Vedruna family. It was indeed a memorable celebration of faith, gratitude, service and generous love, reminding us of the rich legacy we have received and the mission that continues to inspire us to journey forward with hope.
