“Caring for Life, Cultivating Hope” – 5th State Youth Ministry Meeting of the Diocese of Floresta-PE.

With the theme “Cultivate and protect creation” (Gen 2:15), from April 25 to 27, the Diocese of Floresta – PE had the joy of hosting the V State Meeting of Youth Pastoral (EEPJ).

The meeting began in the afternoon of the 25th and ended at noon on the 27th. It brought together young people from various Archdioceses of the Northeast Region: Garanhuns, Nazaré, Recife, Salgueiro, Afogados da Ingazeira and Floresta.

Inspired by the Word of God, especially verse 2:15 “Cultivate and protect creation” from the Book of Genesis, the participants reflected on the commitment of young people to the mission, care for life and hope that flow from incarnational spirituality and integral ecology.

During these days of exchange, experience and training, some significant moments were highlighted:

  • The conversation with historian João Luís, who addressed the faith and culture of the people, with emphasis on the Quixabeira do Bom Jesus, a symbol of popular religiosity.
  • The dialogue table on Integral Ecology and Divine Ruah, which deepened ecological spirituality.
  • The workshop for the production of indigenous handicrafts, valuing the care of nature and traditional knowledge.
  • The planting of a tree in memory of Pope Francis, accompanied by a profound moment of prayer and thanksgiving for his life and prophetic mission.
  • The experience “Building the Civilization of Love”, which reflected the spirituality of the Youth Pastoral in light of the commitment to integral ecology.

Representing with joy the Vedruna Youth Mission (MJV), Álvaro Danilo, Robson Dória and Sister Maria López (Vedruna) were present, who also accompanied young people from their communities in this moment of communion, hope and commitment to life.
