Fatima Convent Public School marked the historic milestone of the Bicentenary of the Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of Charity with a week-long series of meaningful morning assemblies. To honor the spiritual legacy of the foundress, Saint Joaquina de Vedruna, a unique Maxim of St. Joaquina served as the ‘Thought for the Day’ every morning, inspiring both students and teachers. The week unfolded day by day with great enthusiasm:
Two Hundred Years of Grace
Students Dhyana and Nivisha from Class 6A presented an engaging dialogue on stage. They took the school down memory lane, tracing the congregation’s 200-year journey since its inception in 1826 and highlighting its global impact on education and care.
Pedagogy of Love
The assembly focused on Saint Joaquina’s foundational teaching philosophy—the Pedagogy of Love. Students explained how education thrives on patience, and mutual respect rather than fear.
Three Golden Keys of Education
Expanding on the pedagogical theme, the morning feature highlighted Saint Joaquina’s Three Golden Keys of Education: Love and Kindness, Joy in learning, and the cultivation of Good Habits to build strong character.
Riddles Session
Bringing a spark of interactive fun to the week, a lively riddle session was conducted. It challenged students from all standards to keep their minds sharp and think outside the box.
Expression of Gratitude
The final morning of the school week was dedicated entirely to Gratitude. Students expressed deep thankfulness to Saint Joaquina for her vision, to the resident Sisters for their selfless dedication, and to the school for providing a nurturing environment.
The Bicentenary Week was a resounding success, leaving the students of Fatima Convent Public School deeply connected to their institution’s rich heritage and motivated to live out the virtues of Saint Joaquina in their daily lives.
