Vedruna Mission in the Delegation of the Philippines

Since its inception, the Vedruna Province of Japan has been committed to formal and informal education, in line with the charism of St. Joaquina.

Accompaniment of young people

Inspired by the apostolic vision of St. Joaquina de Vedruna, the Dormitory Home of Our Lady was born in response to the need to accompany young people in their human and Christian growth. The Sisters promote a life of prayer, simplicity and charity, helping young people to mature, commit themselves to Christ and become agents of communion. Their educational mission seeks to build an authentic Christian community marked by peace, joy, love and freedom.

Initial and ongoing formation of the Sisters

In our insertion communities in Tottori, Shimada, Matsudo and Taiwan, the sisters actively collaborate with diocesan, parish and other congregations’ educational institutions, contributing our fraternal and educational presence.

Education and pastoral care of indigenous communities

In Pigcawayan, our apostolate focuses on education and pastoral work, especially pre-evangelization and the formation of basic Christian communities. We accompany lay leaders and visit the 42 barrios to promote community and liturgical life. We also work with the Manobo indigenous people in Renibon, Cotabato, facilitating access to education and integral development. Our goal is to enable them to improve their quality of life and contribute to the growth of their community and society.

Residential house for girls

Tahanan Vedruna, opened in 2002 and run by our sisters, is a residential center that takes in abandoned, neglected or orphaned children. It offers comprehensive long-term care: housing, food, medical care, family environment, school support, tutoring and training in values. It also provides psychosocial counseling and recreational spaces. Activities such as gardening, cooking, piano and art are promoted, favoring the integral development of the children and accompanying them with tenderness and dignity in their human, educational and spiritual growth.
