Diamond Jubilee: living memory of Vedruna delivery

Seventy-five years have passed since April 22, 1950, when the novitiate in Argentina began its initial formation of the Sr. Eliana Gordo FulleChilean.

The The Vedruna Family in Chile gathered to give thanks for the Lord’s faithfulness that has kept Sr. and, like all big celebrations, it has had more than one celebration.

The first was on April 22 with her community, the staff who work in the house caring for the sick sisters and providing other services, and some alumnae who have maintained a relationship with her over the years. They celebrated the Eucharist and shared tea in a joyful and fraternal atmosphere.

The second celebration brought together his family (his nephew, wife and 2 small children), delegations from the four educational communities, the Vedruna Laity and the sisters of the country. In the chapel of St. Joseph Community, in Puente Alto, we celebrated the Eucharist and then lunch. It was a joyful celebration, where we shared as Vedruna Family this event that was also an instance to meet again the members of the different educational communities and the sisters.

We thank the God of Life for the life of Sister Eliana, for sustaining her fidelity throughout so many years, full of joys, learning and achievements, but also sadness and difficulties, for her long years as an educator and we pray that He continues to sustain her in this stage of her life where her fragility and limitations due to her 96 years of age are evident.
