El Carmelo educational community celebrates 72 years educating with joy, faith and Vedruna spirit

What an incredible week we lived! Colegio El Carmelo de Caracas turned 72 years old and we celebrated it as it deserves: with a heart full of joy, lots of creativity and the whole Vedruna family together.

It all began with the emotional celebration of the First Communion, a very special moment that reminded us how important spirituality is in our community. And from then on, every day was a new adventure to celebrate our history, always linked to the best of our country: its culture, its sports and its faith.

Every day of the week the classrooms came alive with language, social studies and science fairs. Our students had a great time: they debated, competed with their knowledge and, above all, had a lot of fun. Best of all was to see how teamwork led them to achieve amazing things – it was impeccable work!

The little ones fromkindergarten and primary school were not left behind: they made experiments, models, crafts and maps of Venezuela showing where there is a Vedruna presence. And of course, everything was full of art, creativity and lots of color, because if our history teaches us anything it is that Vedruna was a multifaceted woman and we carry that in our souls.

One of the most anticipated moments was the parade of godmothers and banners alluding to our natural beauties, their costumes were great, super creative and magical, highlighting the national pride. The jury had a difficult decision, but finally chose: Majida Bastidas 1st grade student was the winner as godmother for Early Education and the young girl Sofia Medina from 3rd year A was the Godmother for General High School Education. They were all very beautiful girls!

During this week there was no shortage of sports games in our program. We had the honor of sharing with the following schools: San Pedro, Don Pedro Fe y Alegría, Franklin Delano Rooselvelt and Colegio Paul Harris. A day of healthy competition and camaraderie between institutions, thank you for coming and making this day unforgettable!

One moment that took our breath away was when Civil Protection accompanied us with a rescue drill after a major earthquake. It was impressive to see how they rescued the victims with such professionalism and took them to the ambulance for first aid. Undoubtedly, an experience that reminded us how important it is to be prepared.

Friday was the sweetest moment: we sang birthday toour house with a huge cake, which we all enjoyed. There is no better way to celebrate than together!

We ended this week with our Family Saturday with a llanera theme. Families enjoyed choreographies prepared by the students, live music, Vedruna Voice Festival, food and hydration for all tastes and lots and lots of fun for young and old.

This is how our 72nd Anniversary Week went, a celebration that reaffirms our commitment to integral education, Christian values and the formation of citizens committed to Venezuela.

Thanks to the entire Vedruna community for making this possible!
