In this year of the Vedruna Bicentenary, the sisters of Peru walk together renewed in the Vedruna Charism.

All the Sisters of Peru, a total of 18, accompanied by Sister Alicia Zanichelli, provincial of Vedrun-America, after some profound spiritual exercises animated by Sister Daniela Cannavina, Capuchin Sister of Mother Rubatto, we held our Annual Assembly 2026 in the community of Pueblo Libre, in the city of Lima, in the significant framework of the celebration of the Vedruna Bicentenary (1826-2026).

The experience lived as a congregational family has been deeply rich and meaningful. Throughout these days we shared various topics of common interest, review of our way and organization and life, as well as the projection of the year. One of the themes was the reflection on the national reality, whose information and analysis received, aroused in us feelings of indignation and pain before the harshness of the social situation that our country is going through, full of challenges and signs of suffering.

From what we are and what we feel as Vedruna Family, we reaffirm our commitment to continue betting on evangelical answers, oriented to the construction of a more dignified, human and humanizing life, from the integral care and going against the current in front of so many signs of death present in our society.

The reflection on Community Life allowed us to “take our pulse” and recognize the importance of living more deeply fraternity, humility and charity, essential features of our Vedruna identity. We clearly perceived the call to live more consciously the shared love, loving among ourselves, with others and walking together.

At the conclusion of the assembly, it became visible among us the fraternal affection and the conviction that we are able to renew every day the mutual love, making credible that the Vedruna Charism, born in Vic 200 years ago, is still alive today and moving forward with strength through the Vedruna Charismatic Family.

We express our sincere gratitude for all that we have shared, for the renewal of life and strength received, and for the opportunity to return to our galileasgeographic and existential life with the commitment to draw from within us all that we have lived, to serve with joy and greater evangelical radicalism, making the Vedruna Charism – a living gift, a faithful dedication to the Kingdom of God during the years that the Lord will grant us.

Embraced in a single heart we concluded singing the Bicentennial hymn: “With you Joaquina we want to continue walking, you are our mother and companion, woman of the confident Yes…”.
