Peace Walk in Floresta, Brazil: 25 years of inspiration and motivation to care for and defend life

On September 3, 2023, the Diocese of Floresta in Pernambuco, Brazil celebrated a significant milestone: 25 years of the inspiring Peace Walk! This annual event, which has been a beacon of hope and a call to action for decades, took place in the welcoming parish of Ibimirim, one of the 12 parishes that make up the Diocese.

The day was full of emotional and reflective moments, with moments of listening to the Word, recitation of poetry and the remembrance of key events throughout the 25 years of the walk. Highlights included vibrant animation and powerful messages highlighting the importance of caring for and defending life in all its forms.


Despite the challenges facing the region, characterized by a needy reality and scarce rainfall, the community of the Diocese of Floresta remains united in faith and committed to its grassroots communities, as a church in constant evolution.

In this special event, Sisters Terezinha, Eunice Vitalina and Marilei accompanied the leaders of their respective parishes, providing support and encouragement on a day dedicated to peace and life. The Peace Walk continues to be a beacon of hope and a call to action in the struggle for a more harmonious and secure world for all.
