One month away from the central celebration of the Bicentennial of the Vedruna Congregation, Suipacha (Buenos Aires, Argentina) advances in the preparations to host this historic event that will bring together the Congregational family of America. February 28, 2026 will mark the beginning of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the foundation, in a deeply significant place for the Vedruna history in the continent.
In the previous days, representatives from the different countries of the continent and from the rest of the communities in Argentina will begin to arrive. The Organizing Committee has been carrying out different actions that express the spirit with which it wishes to live this Bicentennial: community participation, grateful memory and projection towards the future. The actions include publicizing the event in local media inviting the whole community, dissemination of the initiative in social networks, placing banners in strategic points of the city and making souvenirs for visitors, among others.
The preparation is lived in an articulated way between the Congregation, the local community and the institutions of the town, strengthening the bonds with Suipacha and reaffirming its identity as a place of welcome and encounter. Beyond the organizational aspects, the road to the Bicentennial is presented as a spiritual process that invites to renew the commitment with the charisma inherited from Saint Joaquina de Vedruna.
One month before the celebration, the Organizing Committee is finalizing details with the Municipality of Suipacha and a climate of enthusiasm and co-responsibility is perceived. Suipacha is not only preparing to receive those who will arrive from different countries, but it is also preparing to offer its history, its people and its faith as a living part of the Vedruna identity in America.
In this previous time, the Congregation recognizes that it is called to look at the road traveled with gratitude and to project itself with hope. As St. Joaquina expressed, “let us do good always and to all”, trusting that the Spirit continues to animate the Vedruna life and mission, today and in the future.
On February 28, and in the previous days, the streets of Suipacha will be flooded by the Vedruna charisma. There are only a few days left and the Commission is confident that Suipacha will receive the whole Vedruna Family in the best way.
