Last February 28, Suipacha became the living heart of Vedrunamerica. What began as a local celebration became a continental experience of faith, communion and shared mission. Emotions multiplied among those who attended in person at the Suipacha square and those who followed the transmission on YouTube, reaching 980 connections. The communities that participated through Zoom also joined in, interacting in real time with those present and confirming that the charism knows no frontiers.
The day began with a pilgrimage through the stations of the tourist and prayer circuit that recalls the life and presence of Venerable Mother Leonor Maturana. Between prayer and reflection through the city, the community prepared its heart for the main celebration.
At noon, communities from Argentina together with visitors from Venezuela, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Bolivia shared a fraternal lunch prepared by the Colegio Nuestra Señora del Carmen and the Bicentennial Commission of Suipacha, in an atmosphere of
true family.
At 6:00 p.m., the preview began, animated by the Vedrunamerica communication team: Pancho and Bruno from Argentina and Piny from Chile, who bridged the gap between the physical and the virtual. In this space, greetings were projected
sent from different parts of the continent.
The Eucharist was presided over by the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Mercedes-Luján, together with priest friends who concelebrated. The technology allowed the active participation of various communities of the continent, proclaiming the first reading and raising petitions, making visible a truly synodal Church.
In a significant moment, the Provincial Sister Alicia Zanichelli thanked the dedication of those who preceded the mission and expressed: “Thanks to those who today continue to be the arms of St. Joaquina de Vedruna in the schools, with the sick, in the peripheries, where life cries out for hope”.
Then a greeting from the General Team was shared from Vic, encouraging the Province to remain united in the love of Joaquina and to move forward with a synodal look towards the future. A young woman was sent on behalf of the 20 young people who will participate in the Vedruna Youth Encounter in Vic, Spain. Afterwards, the Archbishop imparted a special blessing to the sisters present.
The day concluded with a fair of entrepreneurs and food carts. As a pilgrim who crossed the Andes from Chile, I can only say: TOTAL THANKS.
