In the Dominican Republic, summer camps have been organized and held for years for children from various communities: El Pinito, Matanzas de Sabaneta, and El Puñal. Young camp counselors from these communities are sharing glimpses of their experiences from 2026.

The community of “El Pinito” hosted “The Vedruna Camp 2026: The Great Mission of Love—Adventurers of the Heart, ” under the theme “Loving and Helping Is Our Adventure, ” which invited us to enjoy an unforgettable experience. With the participation of approximately 90 boys and girls and 17 counselors, we shared days filled with learning, prayer, group activities, and singing.
One of the most meaningful activities was the outreach to homes in the community. Together with the children, we brought a message of love and hope to families, reminding them that true love is demonstrated by serving others. This camp was made possible thanks to the support and generosity of the entire community.
The team of camp counselors consisted of Miguel Ángel, Rosaura, Valeria, Anaysha, Yismeiry, Victoria, Crisneiry, Selena, Razmeli, Denisse, Stiven, Laura, Yanela, Daniela, Yaneli, Albelis, and Yorlenys—all of whom made it possible for this mission to touch the heart of every child.
On a personal level, this was my eighth year as a camp counselor, working with children ages 5 to 11. Each camp strengthens my calling to serve and reminds me that small gestures of love can leave a lasting impact.
Today we can say that the adventure continues beyond the camp, because loving and helping others isn’t just a motto—it’s a way of life that turns us into true adventurers of the heart.

In Matanza, from July 6 to 11, we held our Vedruna 2026 Camp in the community of Sabaneta, La Vega.
Being part of this camp as a counselor and member of the organizing team was a deeply enriching experience. Every day was an opportunity to share, serve, and support the children with love, helping them grow in their values and discover that they are important and deeply loved.
More than just organizing activities, we lived a true experience of service, where we also learned from the simplicity, joy, and warmth of each child. Without a doubt, the 2026 Vedruna Camp left a mark on their hearts and on ours as well, reminding us that when we serve with love, we transform lives and strengthen our community.
