On December 14 we organized in Suao, Taiwan, an Advent Retreat for our lay Vedruna Friends. There were about 17 participants: most of them also took advantage of the occasion to celebrate also the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
In the morning, Fr. Edu Revolledo Villanueva, of the Congregation of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus, Peruvian, led our Advent Retreat. He began by quoting some words of St. Joaquina de Vedruna:
“Beloved daughters, it is time to prepare ourselves for the coming of the good Jesus; may he find our hearts on fire with his love.”

These words centered the retreat on waiting for Jesus.
“Let us prepare ourselves well during these days so that, being open to Him, the good Jesus may be born in us and we may all be born with Jesus to a new life. May it be so.
Ep. 108
Father emphasized the theme of waiting together and what it means to be born to a new life, to new virtues. From the Gospel text of St. Matthew 25, the final moment and the parable of the ten virgins, the priest helped us to deepen our understanding of the Word of God and its message.
