With the biblical motto Talitha Kum from the Gospel Lk. 8,54 the Pastoral Assembly 2024 was held, the maximum instance of participation of the Vedruna pastoral in Venezuela that, from the synodality and walking together, seeks the communion of the Vedruna family that pilgrims in the country, to continue the evangelizing and missionary action that St. Joaquina de Vedruna started in the Church of Christ in solidarity, fraternity and charity.
From this story full of faith and miracles, on September 3 and 4, 18 people from the different places of mission where the Vedruna charism is present participated to reflect, evaluate and plan together from this teaching of Jesus. This biblical passage moved us to have an attitude of trust and hope from prayer. It was a lesson of faith that reminded us that we must trust in Jesus, since only He has the power to transform the impossible into the possible.
In the midst of this assembly we reviewed the Vedruna youth journey in the country from the patient listening of the work done in each of the groups of the Vedruna Youth Mission (MJV) and the educational centers where the charism is alive to evaluate the document of Identity of the MJV and take the inputs to plan the new school year. With joy and full of illusion we lived these days of family meeting.
At the conclusion of the youth assembly, the Youth House in Coche, Caracas, did not remain empty, but continued to be full, giving way to the meeting of the Management Teams where together we planned the development and projection of each of the academic Sections and the College in general, maintaining the unity with the Mission given by our holy Foundress, Joaquina de Vedruna and with the congregational orientations. Under the motto “To be born again“ and from the biblical inspiration of Jn. 3,1-7 we live these days from:
- Mutual understanding: setting out common horizons, lines and goals for the progress of Venezuela’s educational centers.
- Patient listening: for the evaluation of walking during the school year,
- Constructive dialogue: thinking about the challenges and dreams that we want as a Vedruna family, both nationally and locally, and with
On September 5 and 6, 15 teachers from the different places where the charism is alive met to agree on the course of this new school year, which is about to begin. The reflection was offered by Dr. Angel Tovar, vice-president of AVEC – Venezuelan Association of Catholic Schools, with the theme: I am a manager, called to be a person to the fullest . His presentation helped us to focus on our educational centers and to unify us as management teams from the functions and service that each one of us will assume from the new school year.
