VI VIFI Meeting: Joining ties and looking to the future

On January 18, the youngest sisters of the congregation participated in the VI virtual meeting, a gathering that brought together representatives from the four continents. Dedé, liaison of the General Team, was also present and her participation was key to strengthening the bonds and sense of belonging to the Vedruna family. This meeting was marked by various moments that contributed to strengthen the bonds between the participants and to strengthen the sense of belonging to the Vedruna family.

The meeting was preceded by meetings in each province or delegation, where the sisters reflected, together with the Provincial Teams, on the proposals of the General Team for the journey of Vedruna International, Family Interconnected (VIFI).

During the event, profound and beautiful moments of spirituality were experienced, guided by the chapter document To Be Born Again. The entire group was warmly welcomed, paying special attention to the sisters who were participating for the first time. In addition, the sisters who offered their service in the VIFI Commission during the past years were bid farewell with gratitude, and a warm welcome was given to the new members of the team.

One of the highlights was the collective reflection on two essential questions:

  1. How have we lived the VIFI journey in our province/delegation and in the congregation so far?
  2. What do we feel called to as Vedruna Religious Life in the face of the proposals of the Chapter document?

The responses shared were very nice and showed great harmony, with agreement on dreams, challenges and the desire to strengthen spirituality, fraternal relationships, the integral care of the common home and commitment to the most needy people. Likewise, interest was expressed to know more about the Vedruna mission in the different contexts.

The closing of the meeting was marked by the intervention of Sister General, Maria Teresa, who highlighted the most significant points of the reflections, sharing teachings full of wisdom and hope for the future. The participation of the translators, Justi, Carme and Mitsue, was fundamental for the smooth running of the meeting. Finally, the meeting concluded with words of gratitude to God, to Joaquina and to each sister present, sealing a day of union and commitment.
