In Villa Mella, a suburb of Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), the Vedruna Training Center offers hope and opportunities to young people who would otherwise find it difficult to enter the world of work.
Through four-month training workshops, the center seeks to provide technical and human tools that will enable participants to make their way towards a better future.
During this year, two new training cycles were completed: “Sales and Promotion of Pharmaceutical Products (OTC)” and “Assistant Secretary”, with the participation of young people -most of them women- full of dreams, effort and determination. At the end of this stage, several of them expressed their gratitude for the experience.
“We thank God, who makes the impossible possible, and the Vedruna Center for receiving us through INFOTEP. We give honor to whom honor is due, to our beloved teacher, Lic. Julia Ferrer, for her dedication and patience. The lessons received not only prepared us technically, but also in the importance of precision, care for the environment and human formation.”
“To my teammates, thank you for the support, the laughter and the camaraderie. This road was more bearable because of you. Together we learned, not only about pharmacy, but also how to work as a team.”
“Today I feel proud of this achievement. For a long time I was at home without motivation, but this center helped me believe in myself and discover new opportunities. Thank you for opening doors for me and making me part of this family.” – Ashante Alexa Castillo
“This secretarial course has been an experience full of learning and personal growth. I thank the teacher for her love, dedication and commitment. Today one stage ends, but another begins, full of challenges and hope. I thank God for having put this opportunity in my path.” – Pamela Ozorio
The Villa Mella Vedruna Center continues to be an open door to the future, where education and faith meet to transform lives.
