“Young people with Joaquina, we walk with hope and for the life of youth! “🌿✨
On the morning of Sunday, September 28, the youth of the Youth Ministry, Confirmands, Catechumenate and Vedruna Youth participated in a walk to the Casinha Viewpoint, in the city of Salgueiro, in the heart of the Central Sertão of Pernambuco – Brazil. The activity was part of the “Yellow September”, a month dedicated to the valorization of life and, in a special way, to the care of the youth.

Salgueiro, with its 62 thousand inhabitants, is known as the “Crossroads of the Northeast”, for being the meeting point of important highways that connect several regions. A land of rich cultural and religious tradition, it also keeps the memory of the presence of the Vedruna Sisters, who left traces of faith, service and commitment to the families and local youth.
During the tour, the young people prayed the Holy Rosary, reflecting on suicide prevention and the promotion of life. At each mystery, they invoked the intercession of St. Joaquina de Vedruna, recalling her confidence in young people, her ability to inspire courage and her example of hope and generosity.
The walk was more than a symbolic gesture: it became a moment of spirituality, memory and commitment. Inspired by Joaquina’s testimony, the participants were invited to look at their own lives with greater confidence, to cultivate faith and to keep hope alive even in the midst of difficulties.
The climb to the Casinha Viewpoint became a visible sign that the youth of Salgueiro want to be a seed of life, union and solidarity. With each step, they renewed the certainty that faith shared in community strengthens hearts and opens new horizons.
