As every year, the Vedruna Volunteers of Copiapó (Chile) -women who bring to life the charism of St. Joaquina de Vedruna and update her constant concern for the sick, as narrated in her biography- organized themselves together with their families and close people to carry out a significant solidarity action in favor of the hospitalized children of the city.
With great dedication, during the month of December they gathered toiletries, diapers and clothes for newborns, as well as gifts for the children of the Pediatrics and Neonatology services of the Copiapó Hospital. Every detail was prepared with care and joy, as a concrete expression of closeness, hope and love.
The coordinator of the volunteers, Mrs. Sonia Yupanqui, shared in her message the gratitude and joy expressed by both the families and the hospital staff for this gesture of solidarity. She also highlighted the profound experience lived by each volunteer to see how the generosity of many people and the shared effort make it possible to make present the love of the Lord and the Vedruna charism in simple gestures, but deeply human, especially with those children who at this time are far from their homes.
