A meaningful Bicentenary Celebration was held at Fatima Convent Public School on 24 August 2026 on the theme “200 Years of the Eternal Flame” as part of the Bicentenary celebrations and in preparation for the 172nd Death Anniversary of St. Joaquina de Vedruna, which falls on 28 August 2026.
The programme began with a beautiful prayer dance to the hymn “Footsteps walking with Me,” setting a prayerful and joyful tone for the celebration. The highlight of the programme was a skit on “200 Years of the Eternal Flame,” presented by two students of Class IX and three students of Class VI. Through their enthusiastic and meaningful performance, the students portrayed the journey of St. Joaquina’s charism and how the flame of her faith, love and service continues to shine through generations. The skit was well appreciated by everyone present.
The students of Class VI also presented the hymn “You Know That Now” in honour of St. Joaquina, expressing their love and gratitude for our beloved Foundress. Sr. Mary John, ccv, shared an inspiring message, highlighting the important values of St. Joaquina—love, joy, faithfulness, trust in God’s Providence, compassion and service—and encouraged the students to embody these values in their daily lives.
A student of Class II delivered a short and meaningful speech on Mother Joaquina, followed by the Thought for the Day, presented by the Class II students through a maxim of St. Joaquina.
The celebration at Fatima Convent Public School was a joyful and prayerful reminder that, even after 200 years, the eternal flame of St. Joaquina’s charism continues to burn brightly. The programme concluded with gratitude and a renewed commitment to carry forward her legacy of faith, love and service.
