Our Jivan Vahal Hostel at Bardipada, is home to 227 young tribal girls between the ages of 12-18, who are alumni of the Jesuit run school in the next campus. “Everything with love, nothing by force” is our motto and in this Bicentenary year, we made special efforts to share with the girls more about the life and legacy of this great educator and model, St. Joaquina.
We hold in deep esteem our five pioneering Vedruna Sisters from Spain who brought the Charism to our Mother land where it has flourished and borne abundant fruits. We remain indebted to them for their generous love, the strength of their inspiring mission, modelled on the spirit of our Foundress, St.Joaquina de Vedruna. To help the girls learn about these inspiring women, the participants were divided into three groups: Joaquina de Vedruna and Zoila Ganzarain; Pilar Navarrete and Elvira Garcia; Maria Ricart and Asunción Escayola.
The quiz competition was held in the presence of the entire community of the sisters, staff and the boarders. Their enthusiasm and spirit of competition brought immense joy to everyone present. Winners and participants alike were presented with gifts as a token of appreciation and encouragement for their sincere efforts.
Sr. Cecilia Rodrigues, the hostel-in-charge, prepared the young minds by introducing them to significant details about Manso Escorial, Vic and Barcelona—names and places that evoke deep feelings of love and gratitude in the hearts of every Vedruna.
It was a joyful and meaningful celebration, enabling the girls to discover and appreciate the rich heritage of the Vedruna family and the inspiring legacy of those who carried its charism forward with love and dedication.
