On the occasion of our Bicentennial, most of the communities of the Province have organized several activities for this great event.
On December 4, the community of Añisok, Equatorial Guinea, organized activities on the theme “200 years of faith, love and service”: a visit to the elderly, sick and disadvantaged people of the city; on December 7, a Mass of thanksgiving followed by a brief history of the life of St. Joaquina. In Bata, meanwhile, December 17 was the day on which several sisters participated in a radio roundtable on the life of St. Joaquina in three stages: young, married and religious, on Radio Maria de Bata and Radio Asonga Bata.
On December 16, the community of Kingungi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, organized a conference on the life and mission of the Carmelite Sisters in the world, moderated by Sister Ambroisine Mansi, followed by cultural activities with the students of Nto Luntondo High School and Mawete Primary School.
And on December 14, the Kolokoso community, accompanied by the Vedruna Laity of the Democratic Republic of Congo, visited the local hospital in order to offer psychological and material support to the patients.
Finally, on December 17, the life of St. Joaquina was performed at Sungama High School by the students.
