From February 28th to March 1st, Sr. Rosa Dabhi, CCV, along with the other three delegates of the Dominican International School of Taiwan, attended a conference in the Philippines, organized by Parents for Education Foundation (PAREF) for Schools. The theme of the conference was “Building Bridges: A Global Collaboration of Best Practices on 21st Century Character Education”. The conference brought together educators and leaders from Southeast Asia, Australia, Italy, Spain and the United States of America to explore innovative approaches to fostering character in young people.
The various keynote speakers spoke on “Champion of Character in Sports,” “Framing Thoughts in Character Education,” and Fr. Esteban De Sas from the Office of Studies in Rome, provided invaluable insights that inspired delegates. Over the three-day event, attendees participated in engaging discussions, networking opportunities, and shared best practices that emphasized the importance of character formation in education. As the conference concluded, it reinforced the mission of catholic education to inspire and shape the character of students, ensuring they grow as compassionate leaders and committed members of the Church in the future.
Sr. Rosa also took the opportunity to visit our dear Vedruna Sisters in Quezon City, especially Sr. Vicky who was in Taiwan for 8 years and is not weak in health. The companions who visited the sisters along were very happy and appreciated the community’s welcoming gesture as the family spirit.
