Celebrating 200 years of generous love in Meghraj

On 6th September, the Carmelite Sisters of Charity Vedruna joyfully celebrated the Bicentenary of our Congregation, at Meghraj Mission. The day was a grace-filled expression of faith, communion and our shared Vedruna vocation.

The celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Sibi, recalling with joy the life and legacy of our Mother Foundress, St. Joaquina de Vedruna. A meaningful procession with symbols representing our sisters serving across different continents beautifully expressed the universality of our mission.

Following the Eucharist, a presentation on the life and mission of St. Joaquina highlighted her deep faith, courage, compassion and generous service. A joyful dance added festivity to the celebration.

The presence and participation of many parishioners enriched the occasion, bringing us together as one family of faith. It was a memorable celebration of our Vedruna heritage, inspiring us to remain rooted in God’s love and committed to carrying forward the mission entrusted to us.
