March 8 is International Women’s Day, a day in honor of women. To celebrate this day in all its beauty, the Consecrated Life Commission of Kimwenza organized various activities, such as dance, theater, poems and soccer.
The event began with a soccer match between postulants and novices from different congregations, divided into neighborhoods. This was followed by a recreational evening at the Canisus amphitheater.
During the evening, various activities took place: singing, dancing, poems and theater. The activities ended with a word from the head of the consecrated church of Kimwenza, urging us to give dignity to women, especially those who are victims of all forms of atrocities, violence, war, death and manipulation in eastern Congo. She encouraged us to continue to defend our dignity.
We concluded with a joint prayer, and in an embrace of joy, we all returned together to the community.
