On 21st September, the Province of India came together to celebrate their Regional Assembly. The assembly was held in four different places at the same time:
- 1. Ahmedabad: Saurashtra, Central and North Gujarat regions.
- 2. Unai: South Gujarat region.
- 3. Mumbai: Maharashtra region.
- 4. Borlengri: North East region.
The chosen theme for this important gathering was “Come, listen, live”, a call to open hearts and minds to God’s word and to one another.
The day began with the first session, conducted simultaneously in all three regions. In the North-East, the session was led by Sr. Daisy; in Mumbai, by Sr. Rita Rebello; and in Ahmedabad, by Sr. Dorothy Michael. This opening session focused on spiritual deepening and offered reflections on the three calls taken from the Chapter document, “The Art of Encounter”. It was a time of prayer and reflection that helped the Sisters to connect more deeply with their charism and the mission entrusted to them.
The second session was a more creative expression of the same theme. The Sisters presented the three calls through PowerPoint presentations, dance, drama, and song. These artistic and thoughtful presentations captured the spirit of the calls and brought them to life in meaningful ways. Group discussions followed, giving everyone the opportunity to share, reflect, and learn from one another. This session highlighted the beauty of unity and collaboration, as creativity and community spirit shone through the contributions of the Sisters.
A very special moment of the assembly was the online presence of Mother General, Sr. Maria Teresa Cuervo, and Sr. Maria Teresa Llach. They joined the gathering virtually and shared inspiring and encouraging words with the Sisters. Their message gave strength and renewed enthusiasm to continue living the charism faithfully in today’s world. Their presence, even from afar, was deeply felt and appreciated.
In the final session, the Provincial Team members in all three regions presented and explained the logo of the Bicentenary. They unfolded its spiritual meaning and reminded everyone of the journey the congregation is making towards this significant milestone. The explanation inspired the Sisters to walk with renewed dedication and to celebrate the Bicentenary with gratitude and commitment.
The assembly ended with a profound sense of thanksgiving. The Sisters expressed their joy and gratitude for this time of renewal, reflection, and sharing. For all the members of the India Province, the Regional Assembly was not only a formal gathering, but also a special moment of grace. It deepened their understanding of the three calls, strengthened their community bonds, and filled their hearts with renewed joy to continue walking in the spirit of their Foundress and charism.
