Easter Vedruna 2025: “In your light we are hope”.

Under the motto “In your light we are hope”, from April 17 to 20, 2025, about 130 people from all over Spain, religious, lay people (families, many children and young people), celebrated Easter at the Vedruna Center in Valladolid.

We met, after an itinerary towards Easter of the whole course, to live in Community, in a creative, artistic way, to listen to the Word of the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus and to the witnesses of his time and of the present time. We were able to contemplate in a shared way the passage and the effect of the Lord in the life of each one and in the group (the community).

The Lord went through our lives and worked on the inside. He worked on us even while we slept. In a world inhabited by the shadows of suffering and death, the Light of the Risen Jesus illuminates our lives and the realities in which we live, work and collaborate. It strengthens us and makes us walk trusting in the Lord, in the construction, with others, of a more fraternal world, in the dark realities of our cities and neighborhoods. It leads us, furthermore, to allow ourselves to be enlightened by the people who live in the darkest realities. This “All is accomplished” of Easter tells us that everything is ripe, and that now, in the realities of each one of us, we must bring it to its fullness.

We sang in a song at Easter: “Only you Lord can change this broken world”. And we have truly experienced throughout these days that, leaning on Jesus and the Father, we can feel and share the hope that the world Jesus dreamed of is possible. Jesus and the Father are not an idea or a belief. They are present, they give us light and transform our lives. We end Easter with a heart full of hope in the Lord and with a great invitation to be witnesses and to share this hope in the environments of each one (in the return to Galilee): communities, family, workplaces, schools, associations, entities. It was said to us in the sending to Galilee, on Easter Sunday:

“In life there are people who are not aware that things happen. There are people who watch things happen. But there are people who make things happen. “.

We thank the extended and itinerant Vedruna family, which throughout 2025-2026 celebrates its 2nd centenary, for organizing, once again, this Easter as a meeting point for an extended community, for its help to live the faith and the following of Jesus in depth. A place where the seed is planted and cared for and bears fruit, throughout the year, surely in people and places we can’t even imagine.

Come to Galilee, the Lord is waiting for you there.
