Education for Life and from Life: Teachers’ Day at Deep Darshan School

Deep Darshan Gujarati Medium High School celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September with great joy and enthusiasm, combined with the joy of the Bicentenary Year of the Foundation of the Carmelites of Charity Vedruna (1826-2026).

This year we celebrate 200 years of Generous love and service in mission. It was St. Joaquina de Vedruna who started the mission 200 years ago with a small group of sisters to educate the poor children and to care for the sick with the motto – Nothing by force, everything with love.

The specialty of the day was that the students of Class 10 and 12 became teachers for a day. They followed the pedagogy of St. Joaquina: education for life and from life. They taught their younger companions with love, patience and creativity, just as our Mother taught. St. Joaquina drew her inspiration from Jesus, the Divine Teacher, to impart knowledge.

Today, after 200 years, we continue to follow her pedagogy and her spirit in our Deep Darshan School. As we celebrated Teachers’ Day in this historic Bicentenary Year, we proudly remembered our Foundress and said with grateful hearts: Hail to St. Joaquina! Hail to 200 years of Vedruna Mission!
