The month of July brought a great gift to the Prelature of Sao Felix do Araguaia – Mato Grosso (Brazil).
The Youth and New Generations sector of the CRB (Conference of Religious of Brazil), continuing its program, promoted the 7th edition of the Youth Mission in the Amazon.
The first part of the Mission took place in the North of the Prelature, and from the 23rd to the 27th, the missionaries were in the Parish of São Félix do Araguaia, where we are.
Forty-three missionaries, young men and women Religious, from twenty-five or more Congregations and from different parts of Brazil, animated the people with their joyful and friendly presence, making visits to the families in the different sectors and communities of the parish.
It is a meeting that we have been preparing for since last year. The sisters of the community are involved in an intense work to prepare the welcome, lodging and accompaniment during the Mission.
At the end of this stage of the missionaries’ presence, we can hear with satisfaction the echoes that reach us from the Christian community: “The missionaries were in my house”, “I am from that family that the Sisters visited… I want to baptize my son”, “Have they already left? What a shame”, “I hosted the Sisters in my house”.
We are left with the challenge of continuing the journey with the new youthful breath they left us.
We give thanks in the words of the psalmist: “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad” (Psalm 126:6).
