It was one of the most joyful and fulfilling Bicentenary celebrations, truly reflecting the spirit and sentiments of the Manso Escorial of 1826.
The Vedruna community at Oshiwara is a loving home for 23 homeless girls who have been rescued from the streets. For the past 29 years, we have been collaborating in this Jesuit mission of providing a home to the homeless—a commitment that continues around the clock, with love, care and dedication.
The joy of these 23 girls was immeasurable as they prepared to celebrate this special day with the sisters and other guests. The children from the nearby home, cared for by the Sisters of St. Ann, also joined us for the Eucharistic celebration, which was concelebrated by the Director of the Centre, Fr. Francis Fernandes, SJ.
Sr. Daisy’s presence and words of appreciation were deeply valued by the community and served as a great source of encouragement and motivation for the Oshiwara community.
May St. Joaquina inspire us and give us the strength and zeal to keep these children close to our hearts, embracing them with compassion, love and tenderness.
