Coincident with the Bicentenary of our Congregation, our community also celebrates the silver jubilee of its foundation. As we look forward to a great bringing together of the memoirs over the years of the Congregation as well as our mission in Subir, our hearts are filled with great joy and gratitude to the Lord.
As part of the Bicentenary year activity, we have undertaken in our hospital a study of the letters of St. Joaquina to her biological family with all our lay staff. From January 2026, we had two sessions a week reflecting deeply into the sentiments that vibrated through these letters. In the modern world when communication is swifter with modern gadgets, savouring something of the past through the letters of Joaquina was something unique. The staff thanked the sisters for it was an inspiring study that challenged and encouraged them to live
the daily hassles of life courageously.
School dropout as well as those struggling economically to continue their studies find an opportunity to secure a job through the Nurse assistant’s course organized by the Hospital. In this Bicentenary year this carrier development program for youth is dedicated to honour St. Joaquina.
The hospital also organized several medical camps in the remote villages of Dang, Gujarat attending to hundreds of sick people who are sidelined from the main stream. The bicentenary activities reawakened in us once again the spirit of Joaquina, who selflessly reached herself out to the people of her time.
