This April 18, we gathered as the Vedruna Family in the community of San José, Puente Alto, Chile, to celebrate the love of God manifested in the life of Sr. Ema, in her 75th year as a Sister in the Congregation.
Today, along with rejoicing, we gave thanks to the Lord for so many years of dedication expressed in her daily life, in her constant availability, in her simplicity and welcome to people. Ema summed up her long life in the motto that also gathered what the Word of God gave us “Love alone is enough” and what is love if not an absolute surrender that leads us to say YES to every mission entrusted to us, to every call that the Lord makes to us.
The Eucharist was presided by the parish priest of the place as an expression that this vocation was born in the Church and has always been for the Church. All the sisters of the country, Vedruna Laity, educators, his biological family accompanied him, we celebrated, we thanked him for his testimony, we shared a beautiful Eucharist and then a fraternal and festive table where we shared food, but most importantly life with its joys and concerns and fond memories of tasks and various missions in the places where we have been present over the years.
We thank the Lord for this beautiful gift of having Ema among us and to be able to join in her thanksgiving to the Lord who called her and has sustained her faithfulness throughout so many years.
