Recently, two meetings took place in Venezuela that made the Vedruna project move forward in the country and give bold answers to the reality: the formative meeting of the administrative personnel of the Vedruna Schools, and the meeting of the local teams of the Vedruna Youth Movement (MJV).
Training Meeting of the Administrative Staff of the Vedruna Schools
On November 15 in Coche, Caracas, for the first time we gathered the administrative personnel of the different Educational Centers that share the Vedruna Spirituality and Charism: U.E.P Guaicaipuro II, Fe y Alegría Santa Joaquina, Fe y Alegría Caroní, Carmelo Caracas, Carmelo Cagua, U.E.P Teresita González Quevedo, and U.E.P Nuestra Señora del Valle, to begin a process of deepening the administrative management from the congregational guidelines.
We began by reading the Foundational Letter No. 81, which helped us to situate ourselves in the starting point of the organizational features of the Congregation since its foundation. The different Chapter documents also served as a basis for us to get to know the dynamics of decision-making and the repercussions on the mission of the schools, since we are all called to live in an inclusive, prophetic and sustainable way.
We were able to count on the presence of two lawyers to socialize the legal procedures that must be carried out in specific situations. The legal responsibility that the Administration Department has in the schools was highlighted, where training, organization, responsibility, confidentiality… must prevail.
With the desire to continue our training and to empower ourselves to respond to the mission, we returned home bearing in mind that behind every number, bank transfer, decision making… there is a person who trusted the Educational Center, therefore, how important it is to combine accounting with life!

Meeting of the local teams of the Vedruna Youth Movement (MJV)
During November 14 and 15 at the Youth House in Coche, Caracas, we gathered all those who animate the Vedruna Youth Mission of the country in the eastern zone: Caroní, Santa Joaquina and Teresita González-Quevedo, and from the central zone: Guaicaipuro II, El Carmelo Caracas, Nuestra Señora del Valle and El Carmelo Cagua, to evaluate the beginning of our children’s groups “Vedrunitos and Estrella Vedruna”, program the anniversary week and take advantage to form and share together as Vedruna family.
During the day, the importance of intertwining the guidelines of the Vedruna Management with those of AVEC (Venezuelan Association of Catholic Education) and the Ministry of Education, in order not to lose the horizon to follow from the charismatic roots, was valued.
In this opportunity we had two training topics that helped us to reinforce our commitment as leaders: “The role of the leader” and “The mission of being responsible” because an animator of our youth groups is responsible for coordinating and organizing activities and events of their local community, motivating the participants to contribute the best of themselves, as well as coordinating the strengths and resources of the people and the group, stimulating them to achieve the objectives.
In an atmosphere of joy and laughter we lived these days as a Vedruna family, grateful for the experiences and programming to be carried out in the future.
