Accompanied by Srs. Maria Teresa Cuervo and Maggie D’Costa On February 14, with the presence of the General Team, the Provincial Team and 11 sisters of VedrunAmerica who participated in person and online, we began the XIII Provincial Assembly of VedrunAmerica. It is always a joy to meet, recognize and welcome each other with all the life we carry within!

The opening prayer motivated us to live from hope, a hope that allows us to open new paths, illuminated by the newness of the Spirit. This light impels us to continue walking together, strengthening the fraternity, the mission we share, faithful to the charism that unites us.
On the first day, Sisters Maureen and Flor Maria presented us with a “timeline” of our journey as a Vedrun-America province.
On the second day, Fr. Simon Peter Arnold OSB, illuminated the day from Jn 6:1-11. We can live from the point of view of scarcity or from the challenge of sharing what we have. We can live expecting miracles from heaven, like manna, or we can provoke the miracle that comes from sharing, as sisters, the gifts and the life that springs up within us.
On the third day, we listened to the valuable work of the mission teams of the province, followed by a presentation by Sr. Daniela Cannavina, HCMR, “Commitment in the mission making Kingdom”. She left us with some questions to keep in mind: how to be an alternative and prophetic voice to dwell in the world that surrounds us daily, what world we dream of and how to respond from our charism.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed the meeting and presentation of the Novitiate House, located in Campinas, Brazil.
Each day is enriched by ample space for dialogue and deep listening. The shared word widens our hearts, always accompanied by hope, “our little sister,” as the philosopher Charles Péguy called it.
The important thing is that we are tracing these paths of hope to be, as Vedruna charismatic life, a prophetic voice in the midst of this continent.
