In a joint commitment to follow the teachings of Jesus and strengthen the Christian community, residents of San Felix de Araguaia, Brazil, have embarked on an inspiring journey. During the months of September and October, the Vila Santo Antonio community has been participating in formation workshops designed to foster unity and reflection.
To achieve this, a sectoring strategy has been chosen to allow participants to listen to each other and share in smaller groups. Twelve groups have been formed, which have held prayer and reflection meetings, following the different liturgical seasons of the Church.
Following the call of Pope Francis in the context of the synod of synodality, which emphasizes the importance of being a united and participatory Church, the community has decided to resume and continue its mission to revitalize and strengthen the faith of its members.
During the month of September, special emphasis was placed on the theme of Christian vocation and the community of faith, based on 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. They also found inspiration in the words of St. Paul in Ephesians 4:1-16, gaining light and strength for their spiritual journey.
At the regional level, São Félix do Araguaia is committed to improving the organization of the “Tithe”, a topic that will be addressed in November and beyond under the theme “Stewardship of the Christian Community”.
