On 30th of August, the Bicentenary celebration was held at the Don Bosco Chapel, Boardumsa, with great devotion and joy. This joyful occasion began with a solemn Eucharist celebration. We were very privileged to have Fr. Michael, to preside over the Eucharist, which brought us together as a one family in prayer and thanksgiving as a grace filled moment by celebrating 200 years of the foundation.
A meaningful skit and dance on the life of St. Joaquina was presented by our boarding girls. It was highlighted on four stages of life of St. Joaquina as a child, a married woman, a widow and a foundress of the Institute.
The girls enacted each stage of her life with grace and confidence, making the life of the Saint easy to understand and giving inspiration to our lives. Through this small enactment, we learned how St. Joaquina remained faithful to God through every stage of her life and continued her mission of serving others. It was a memorable occasion for each one of us. After the celebration snacks were served for all the nearby hostel children and the parishners.
