In a significant election held today, August 3, 2023, Sister Maria Teresa Cuervo, of Colombian origin and until now Provincial of Vedrun America, has been elected as the new Sister General of the Carmelite Sisters of Charity Vedruna for the next six-year term. After several days of discernment and after the voting, the gathered sisters have given their confidence to Sister Maria Teresa, who will assume the important responsibility of leading the congregation.
The Vedruna Family unites in prayer to ask for wisdom and blessings for Sister Maria Teresa in her new work of service and guidance.
