On Friday, December 5, in the afternoon, the Second Family Meeting of Colegio Vedruna de San Felipe was held, an event that brought together families, students and the educational community in an atmosphere of faith, joy and unity, within the framework of the liturgical season of Advent.
Under the motto Vedruna Family walks with hope towards Christmas, the meeting invited to prepare the heart for the coming of Jesus, in a particularly significant year for the school, celebrating the Jubilee year that prepares us for the Bicentennial of the Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of Charity Vedruna, thanking 200 years of generous love and mission inspired by St. Joaquina de Vedruna.
The day began with a greeting and a community prayer, in which the families entrusted themselves to God, asking for unity, peace and trust for this time of waiting. This was followed by an artistic presentation full of emotion, in which students from different levels, together with their families, shared Christmas carols, choreographies and musical expressions. Highlights included the symbolic visit of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Christmas dances, choral interpretations and the keyboard presentation of Silent Night.
A particularly significant moment was the awarding of the Advent Wreath Contest, made by the families with recycled material, reflecting creativity, commitment and the sense of this liturgical season. The participation of all the families was recognized and those who obtained the first three places were highlighted.
During the meeting, the Encounter of Parents in the Spirit Movement (EPE) shared a message that invited us to return to the center of the celebration: Jesus who is born out of love, reinforcing the true meaning of Christmas in family and community life.
The closing was marked by words of thanks to the families, students, pastoral delegates, teachers and the pastoral team, who made this significant meeting possible. As a final sign, each family received a triptych with a prayer for Christmas Eve and a candle, inviting them to bring the light of Christ to their homes.
This Second Family Gathering was a valuable opportunity to strengthen family and community ties, to walk together with hope towards Christmas and to continue preparing ourselves, as a Vedruna Family, to celebrate our next Bicentennial. Bicentennial.
