On May 2, Sister General Maria Teresa and Vice General Maria Irizar arrived in Japan after a smooth trip from Rome. They were welcomed with open hearts, sharing a moment of communion and joy to the sound of songs such as “Flowers” and “Amen Alleluia” by the sisters of the Province of Japan. This emotional meeting was the perfect starting point for the Provincial Assembly, which was to be held over four days, from May 3 to 6, in the company of the General Team.
On the first day of the Assembly, the General Team gave a detailed explanation of the Chapter Document and shared its vision for the next six years. Afterwards, a space was opened for all participants to share their reflections and feelings. The day culminated with an enriching discussion in small groups to define the priorities of the Triennium in the Province, evidencing the presence of the Holy Spirit guiding each step of our work together.
The second day of the Assembly was marked by the activity of the extension team, who listened to and discussed the report of activities presented by the sisters, generating a valuable space for questions and answers that fostered dialogue and mutual understanding.
The last day of the Provincial Assembly was marked by the celebration of the Mass commemorating the 50 years of dedication of our dear sisters. The afternoon culminated with an emotional final collective mass, which symbolized the unity and shared commitment of all those present. During the night prayer, each of us received a blessing from Sister General Maria Teresa, marking the closing of this meaningful and empowering meeting for our community.
