In this 2026, the year in which our Congregation celebrates 200 years of life and mission, we prepare ourselves to live with deep joy the Feast of our foundress, St. Joaquina de Vedruna, which we will celebrate this Friday, May 22.
For this occasion we have different resources that will help us to unite as Vedruna Charismatic Family, through the four continents in which we are present. We have:
- A common prayer that invites us to renew our trust in the Good Jesus and to recognize ourselves as a living part of this story of love, service and hope that continues to bear fruit two centuries later;
- The testimonies of the participants of the course of deepening the Vedruna charism of our six provinces, who share their personal view of who Joaquina is for them today;
- A series of short videos with testimonies of members of the Vedruna Family from different parts of the world.
Prayer for the Feast of St. Joaquina
In this Bicentennial year, the prayer for the Feast of St. Joaquina is born from the desire to celebrate together, as a Vedruna Family spread throughout the world, the fruitful life of our Foundress.
Inspired by the Gospel of St. John, this prayer reminds us how Joaquina knew how to live from trust, surrender and hope, even in the midst of the difficulties and uncertainties of her time. Two centuries later, her way of loving and serving continues to be a call and a horizon for the whole Vedruna Family.
Today, we too are invited to remain in love in the midst of a wounded world, sustaining our daily mission with simplicity, perseverance and trust in the Good Jesus. A prayer to feel ourselves a living part of this shared history and of this chain of life and outstretched arms that Joaquina dreamed of.
Charismatic testimony: “Who is Joaquina to me?”
In all the Vedruna Provinces and Delegation, there are sisters undergoing a process of deep formation in the charism of St. Joaquina.
This feast is a special occasion to put into words the experience they are living as they approach our Foundress, answering a simple and profound question at the same time: “Who is Joaquina for me?”
Testimonies of the Vedruna Family around the world: “Who is Joaquina for me?”
St. Joaquina de Vedruna remains today a source of inspiration and reference for many people throughout the world.
In this series of three videos – the first of which is now available – we share the responses of sisters, young people, students, families, teachers and others in our extended family around the world to the question, “Who is Joaquina to me?”
