Whom shall I send, and who will go? And I said, “Here I am, send me” (Is 6:8).

Ezequiel Lucero from Suipacha, a young member of the missionary group of Colegio Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, has chosen to become a Vedruna volunteer. The chosen place, where he will go at the beginning of September, is the Amazonian jungle, “C. P. Nuevo San Juan” in Ucayali, Peru.

He has been preparing all this time with a lot of enthusiasm, illusion and determined to go and learn from the simple people, share his faith and contribute whatever is necessary.

A group of lay people and missionaries have accompanied and supported him during this time, encouraging him and sharing different experiences, since some of them have also volunteered.

This Saturday, August 17, during the community mass, Father Hernán Tumulty, after addressing him and encouraging him to live with intensity and love the decision he had made, sent him on behalf of the entire Christian community to the new mission.

The mass was also attended by a group of lay people, some of them missionaries, who joyfully supported the task that Ezekiel will be carrying out.

After mass, we gathered around the table where Ezequiel shared with the whole community of sisters how he is living this time of preparation for volunteering.

We had a beautiful sharing, happy that another young person from Suipacha chose to be a Vedruna Volunteer.

We ask the God of Life that, together with Maria, Joaquina and Leonor Maturana, we may feel the strength they had to walk alongside the people.
