In an atmosphere of deep faith, gratitude and fraternity, the Vedruna family in Venezuela celebrated the feast of St. Joaquina de Vedruna, an event marked by the joy of the Bicentennial Year with which we have been giving meaning to all our pastoral educational work from the synodality.
Each educational community became a space of reunion and communion. Under the motto of “synodality” that characterizes this educational and pastoral work, the Vedruna centers lived a memorable day that connected the past, present and future of their legacy as a charismatic family in the country, echoing the words of Joaquina:
“We must love each other very much and be very united.”

The center of the celebrations was the Eucharist of Thanksgiving. In it, gratitude was expressed for the 200 years of history, charism and Vedruna service in the world. During these liturgical celebrations, a large group of children and young people made their First Communions, receiving the sacrament with the enthusiasm of knowing that they are part of this great spiritual family.
The feast of St. Joaquina provided the perfect setting for the reunion of former students, active and retired teachers, families and religious shared tables, anecdotes and fraternal hugs. This generational interaction showed that the spirit of St. Joaquina is still alive, beating strongly in every corner of Venezuela where there is a Vedruna presence (Anaco, San Felix, Puerto Ordaz, Cagua and Caracas).
The celebration concluded with songs, cultural expressions and the renewed commitment to continue educating and serving with the tender and firm style that we inherited from Joaquina de Vedruna, united in a single voice of national joy, feeling Vedruna today.
