Today we share Amaia’s volunteer experience in the village of Nuevo San Juan, Peru.
I left Celendín on October 11 and arrived in San Juan on the 13th, where I am until the 30th.
The time I spend there is short and I live it with full intensity, dedicating my time to the people that Sister María José, from the community, tells me I can help.
Maria Marichi, an 82-year-old woman, who has been dependent for 4 years, without leaving her front door.
Yuler, a 3 year old boy, who due to a fall a month after his birth has a disability, imbalance in his left side and eyes, and who received biomagnetism treatment last year, still has no strength in the left side of his body, although his eyes are better.
DoñaYolanda, 65 years old, who for some time now no one knows what is wrong with her and who, in addition to not being able to walk, is prostrate and very sad.
Her daughter, in her 40s, with low back pain that is giving her a lot of discomfort.
I treat these people on a daily basis, except for the boy because I cannot reach an agreement with his mother, and instead I treat the sister who is with me in the house.
In the morning I did two people and in the afternoon I did the other two.
I can say with joy and emotion that I left Mrs. Maria walking and doing things she has not done in the last four years, such as being able to bathe herself, cut chicken, walk with her husband…, and much more. Mrs. Yolanda improved enough to move around and go to some celebrations far from her home, and she changed her sad and painful expression for a smile, seeing that she could walk.
Her daughter’s low back pain improved.
And the sister who lived with me every day rested very well the time she was with the magnets.
I can say that with simple instruments – the magnets, my hands and the photo machine – and dedication, some people had an improvement in their health.
These simple instruments accompanied me during my stay in Peru and I have put them at the service of the people in the places where I have been, Lima, Celendín, Pucallpa and Nuevo San Juan.
All of this makes me happy and encourages me to continue sharing my life and to enjoy it.
The key is “believing in what you do and the importance of accompanying in the process”. It is not about putting magnets, like putting on a T-shirt, it is about sharing the T-shirt.
I have returned full of life and illusion. The trip to Peru has been a great gift.
