The Archdiocese of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar and our Vedruna community at Unai, Gujarat, recently hosted two remarkable vocation camps, each offering a distinct yet enriching experience for participants. In Odisha, from April 20th to 22nd, 2024, the Divya Jyoti Pastoral Centre in Kanjamendi, K. Nuagaon, Kandhamal, welcomed 260 young girls from diverse backgrounds for a three-day journey of introspection and discernment. This camp was attended by representatives from 126 sisters’ congregations, including Sr. Sweta and Sr. Prema from our Congregation. The camp provided a rich tapestry of activities aimed at fostering spiritual growth and a search for ones personal vocation. Participants engaged in prayer sessions, immersive workshops, and intimate group discussions, culminating in a showcase of congregational charisms and missions on the final day. Vibrant displays and engaging interactions facilitated meaningful connections and inspired attendees to embrace their callings with renewed fervour and purpose. Meanwhile, in Unai, Gujarat, from April 30th to May 2nd, 2024, a three-day vocation camp was convened under the guidance of Sr. Asha D’Monte, Sr. Smita Thomas, and Fr. Arogya Das SJ. With 17 eager participants in attendance, the camp commenced with a Holy Eucharist led by Fr. Francis SJ, setting the tone for a program filled with activities and sessions aimed at spiritual growth and fellowship. Esteemed speakers, including Sr. Asha D’Monte, Sr. Dorothy Michael, Sr. Smita Thomas, Sr. Lissy Paul, and Sr. Geeta Gonsalves, shared their inspiring vocation stories, while Sr. Sweta William animated the sessions, delving into deeper spiritual themes. Evenings were marked by cultural programs and shared meals, fostering fellowship and reflection among participants. As both camps concluded with reflections and evaluations, the participants departed with a deeper understanding of the meaning of a call to any vocation in their life, and in a special way a call to religious life.
