Our dynamics: Weaving together life and hopeas Pope Francis and the Congregation have invited us to do!
From December 27-30, sisters from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti and the Dominican Republic met with Alicia Zanichelli and Marisol Sanchez Paez, provincial and vicar of the Provincial Team.
The meeting was marked by the joy of meeting again and welcoming from the heart the life in mission of the sisters in each of these countries. A life marked by dedication, closeness and welcome to the simple people and those who live in conditions of vulnerability, especially children, adolescents, youth, women and the struggles of the people for social vindication.
In our daily work, the searches and discernments for the immediate future of our generation of sisters are evident, so we want to continue to prioritize the Healing Mission, the youth mission and vocational culture, the educational mission and economic management.
All this desire to give loses meaning if it is not done from the culture of integral care: “I take care of myself, I take care of you and we take care of ourselves”.as the speaker Estela Brioso pointed out, as a way of living better, promoting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. We sisters are aware that we are called to care by healing, so the meeting was an opportunity to recognize the times in which we have not been healers and the times in which with our attitudes we have been careless with the sisters closest to us.
This meeting between countries ended on the 30th with a morning retreat, where together we were able to pray and share what 2024 was for each of us, what we thank the Lord for, what we ask forgiveness for and the “gifts” we take with us for 2025.
We conclude this rich encounter with a joyful heart, hopeful and enthusiastic to continue giving our lives wherever the Lord has placed us.
